Ms. Ting was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in May 2011 and has been practicing law ever since. In 2017, in addition to being in private practice, she became a Pro Tem Justice of the Peace for Justice Courts in Reno, Sparks, Incline Village and Wadsworth.

She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2007 where she graduated with High Distinction and on the Dean’s List.

While attending the University of Nevada, Reno Ms. Ting completed and participated in the University Studies Abroad Consortium Program. With the University’s study abroad program, Ms. Ting spent a semester in Alicante, Spain and a year in Puntarenas, Costa Rica where she lived with a local host family and learned to speak Spanish.

Ms. Ting received her Juris Doctor in 2010 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Ting became a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Ms. Ting received the Community Service Award for 2009 for teaching self-represented litigants to understand their cases and represent themselves in court at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.

Also while in law school, Ms. Ting received and participated in two judicial externships. Her first year of law school she externed for the Honorable Gregg W. Zive in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada in Reno, Nevada. Then in her third year, she externed for the Honorable Bruce A. Markell in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After law school, Ms. Ting was the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Elissa F. Cadish at the Eighth Judicial District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a judicial law clerk, Ms. Ting prepared civil, criminal, and probate calendars for Judge Cadish. She also drafted ruling recommendations and conducted various legal research projects.

Ms. Ting then entered private practice at the law firm of Springel and Fink, LLP in Las Vegas, Nevada as an associate attorney. She represented real estate developers in construction defect litigation and also clients in general insurance defense matters.

Ms. Ting then relocated back to Northern Nevada to be close to her family and received the position of the Deputy District Attorney at the Lander County District Attorney’s Office in Battle Mountain, Nevada. As a prosecutor for Lander County, Ms. Ting prosecuted criminal defendants for crimes including misdemeanors, felonies, traffic matters, poaching crimes and probation violations. Ms. Ting also handled all the juvenile offender cases and represented the county in the juvenile offender diversion program and juvenile drug court. Further, Ms. Ting represented Lander County for the Sixth Judicial District Court Drug Court program.

At the district attorney’s office, Ms. Ting represented the county at the Lander County Commissioner’s meetings, defended the county against civil litigation actions, and was the Deputy Public Administrator, and the Deputy Public Guardian.

Before joining Shook & Stone in December 2018, Ms. Ting was an associate at Gezelin & Associates and represented clients in criminal defense, personal injury, quiet title actions, and eminent domain matters.
