Vanessa Turley graduated from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law in 2016. She was the first graduate of the Health Law Concentration program and also earned pro bono honors and a certificate in mediation. Vanessa received national attention for her capstone paper on medical repatriation and earned second place in the American College of Legal Medicine’s 2016 writing competition and second place in the ABA’s Health Law writing competition in 2016. During her time in law school, she volunteered at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, the Neighborhood Justice Center mediation program, and externed for the Southern Nevada Senior Law program.
Prior to law school, Vanessa attended the UNLV Greenspun School of Urban Affairs where she earned her MSW degree in direct practice social work in 2012. After graduation, she served the Las Vegas Valley as a medical social worker in both acute and sub-acute medical settings.
Vanessa earned her undergraduate degrees at the University of California, Irvine in Psychology and Chicano Studies in 2010.
Her commitment to social justice and working with underserved populations inspired her to pursue a career in Social Security Disability law.
